Indian-American Sudarsanam Babu appointed to U.S National Science Board – April 2020

Dr. Sudarsanam Babu was appointed by U.S. President Donald Trump to the country’s top National Science Board for a period of six years.

Dr. S. Babu holds a Ph.D in Materials Science & Metallurgy from Cambridge University. He did his Masters from IIT-Madras, M.Tech (Industrial Metallurgy and Welding) in 1988. The Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Metallurgy) from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore (1988).

– Director of Bredesen Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Education

– ORNL Governor’s Chair of Advanced Manufacturing

Dr. Sudarsanam Babu would be the 3rd Indian American IIT-Madras graduate to join this prestigious Board. The other two being Sethuraman Panchanathan (Arizona University) and Suresh V. Garimella (University of Vermont).
