ITC Infotech came up with the product after a survey with clients and employees across geographies

Technology services firm ITC Infotech and Harvard Business School (HBS) have jointly developed a Work from Anywhere (I – WFA) productivity framework, which was unveiled on November 11.

I – WFA enables digital, distributed, flexible, outcome driven and secure future work scenario for clients and employees. It powers a distributed workplace and decentralised workforce.

From HBS, Lumry Family Associate Professor Prithwiraj Choudhury collaborated with the Indian tech company to build the data backed and succinct framework.

Two Dubai students are aspiring to revolutionise education for their fellow peers through their innovative platforms.

Ahad Khot and Rishi Shah, from Dubai International Academy — Emirates Hill, aren’t just empowering local teens — they’ve created a movement for hundreds of thousands of students around the world.

Khot, a Grade 12 student, launched a non-profit online platform last year that now has a reach in five countries, where clubs have been set up. The platform can also be accessed from anywhere online.

** Koo user base at about 15 million, eyes expansion to new market in Southeast Asia

The Indian microblogging platform, which has enjoyed a meteoric rise in usage, is currently also available in Nigeria, a market that ‘continues to grow’

Homegrown microblogging platform Koo’s user base has touched about 15 million now, with five million users added in the last quarter, its co-founder Aprameya Radhakrishna has said.

India, the world’s second-largest telecom market and the biggest consumer of data, is a key market for Internet companies like Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter given the large population base, burgeoning internet and smartphone adoption, as well as explosive growth.

** Integrated unmanned road map for Navy launched

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday launched an ‘Integrated Unmanned Road Map for Indian Navy’ at the second edition of the Naval Commanders; Conference that commenced on Monday. This will outline all the unmanned aerial and underwater platforms and efforts of the Navy as part of its force modernisation.

“The geographical location of our country is something that makes it unique in many ways. Surrounded by the vast expanse of ocean from three sides, our country is very important from the point of view of strategic, trade and resources,” Mr. Singh said at the conference.

** Youth creates jobs without investing a single paisa in Bihar

“When I graduated from Dr MGR University in Chennai, I thought of working out a digital shop concept, and finally, after a year of research and works, I have developed two apps.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the son of a grocery shop owner from Bihar’s Samastipur district has created a chain of digital grocery shops that are providing jobs to the unemployed youth without making any investments.  

“People register themselves on the ‘ZILA Community Leadership (ZCL)’ app. After that, they start running digital grocery shops and start doorstep delivery of the items ordered by customers,” Suman Kumar Jha said.

The commission earned from running the digital grocery shop is directly credited to the partners of ZCL app. Partners can earn between  Rs 5,000 and Rs 15,000 per month without making any investments on setting up a physical shop, Jha said.

** Apollo hospital unit claims completion of 100 robotic cardiac surgeries

The Bangalore unit of a leading private healthcare group has completed 100 robotic cardiac surgeries, which it claimed was a “first” such achievement for any hospital in the country.

In a statement, the Apollo Hospitals group on Monday said doctors at its Bangalore hospital had also performed a complex mitral valve cardiac surgery using robotic-assisted minimally invasive “da Vinci robotic system in under 70 minutes, a landmark achievement in interventional cardiology.”
