** Pricol partners with US-based company

utomotive technology major Pricol has announced a strategic technology partnership with Sibros Technologies, a California-based company that provides Over-the-Air (OTA) connected vehicle software systems for OEMs worldwide.

A press release from Pricol said the partnership is to deliver deep connected vehicle solutions in Indian and ASEAN markets.

The connected, all-in-one platform of Sibros will complement Pricol’s suite of products on Driver Information Systems (DIS) and telematics.

Saint Ramanuja laid stone for the temple city on February 24 in 1130

With garlands of mango leaves and saffron festoons crisscrossing the four roads encircling the Sri Govindaraja temple and plantain trees adorning either side of the road, the core area of the temple city wore a festive look on its 892 nd birthday on Thursday.

According to inscriptions, it was on February 24 in the year 1130 that Vaishnavite saint Bhagawad Ramanuja laid the foundation stone for the temple and the four Mada streets around the shrine, which became the first step towards building the township.

India is the youngest country in the world, says Denmark Ambassador

Making a demographic comparison between Asian and Western countries, Denmark Ambassador to India H.E. Freddy Svane has said that India and other Asian societies are younger and will fulfil the world’s requirements in the days to come.

“India is the youngest country in the world. India and other Asian countries have more young population compared to the Western countries where the aged population is dominant. The future of the world relies on India which will turn into the world’s talent hub. The world needs you,” Mr. Svane said in his address to mediapersons at PDA Engineering College here on Wednesday.

He was here to inaugurate an innovation lab established at the college as part of a collaboration with Danish companies and institutes.

** Biological E’s Covid-19 vaccine ‘Corbevax’ receives emergency use approval for 12-18 age group

The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on Monday granted final approval to Biological E’s COVID-19 vaccine Corbevax, for children between 12-18 years of age in India.

Till now India has been administering Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin to teens between 15 and 18 years old since January 3.

The EUA, short for emergency use authorisation, for Corbevax’s restricted use in emergency among adults was cleared by the regulator Drugs Controller General of India in December 2019.

** India records highest-ever annual FDI inflow at $81.97 bn in 2020-21

India, in the last seven financial years (2014-21), has received FDI inflow worth $440.27 billion which is nearly 58 percent of the total FDI reported in the last 21 years ($763.83 billion) the Parliament was told on Friday.

India registered its highest-ever annual FDI inflow of $81.97 billion (provisional figures) in 2020-21 despite the COVID-related disruptions, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

This indicates increasing inclination of global companies to set up their business in India, she added.

The Kashmir Shaiva Institute (KSI) will come up as the first research, studies and publications centre on Kashmir Shaivism, officials said on Sunday, February 21, 2022

The institute will be based in Jammu.

KSI Secretary, Vijay Kumar Kaul, told reporters that focus of the studies, research and teachings will be to enhance reach of the Shaiva philosophy “The Kashmir Shaiva Institute (KSI) will come up tomorrow in Jammu as first research, studies, teaching and publication centre of excellence across the globe on Kashmir Shaivism,” he said.
